In June 2024 the fashion brand Mimaussy photographed its resort wardrobe on a yacht off the coast of Dubai, with founder Elena Arseneva in front of the camera and the Marina skyline, Ain Dubai and the Burj Al Arab in the background.
The garments worn in the shoot were sewn by TAYER.lab at Haštalská 9 in Prague 1 — a fully equipped sewing atelier we opened in 2024 and dedicated to the collections of the French brand Mimaussy. The atelier worked under the brand’s direct creative supervision: the designs and the choice of fabrics came from designer Elena Arseneva and pattern maker Diana Borzinets, and our seamstresses turned them into finished pieces ready for the set.
Eight looks travelled to Dubai: a sheer blue shirt dress with a full tiered skirt, a white sundress with a fitted bodice, a linen shift dress and cropped jacket with inserts of vintage textile, a strapless yellow dress with a ruffled hem, a polka-dot wrap blouse with a bow and a tiered skirt, a powder-pink draped dress, a printed summer dress, and a long royal-blue coat worn over a swimsuit.
The linen set asked the most of the sewing room. The design called for panels of vintage textile set into new linen, so two fabrics of very different weight and behaviour had to be joined cleanly and lie flat — on the dress front and again across the back of the jacket.
