Rio was developed as an individual rhythmic gymnastics costume for a hoop routine — a full-length unitard instead of a classic leotard. Deep burgundy stretch fabric runs from the waist to the ankle, with a white bodice, nude mesh shoulders and copper-orange feather appliqué finished with crystals on the chest, hip and legs.
The long line of the unitard keeps the silhouette clean through turns and leaps, while the feather motif carries the carnival character of the music.
